A One-Stop Service

Overhead crane systems and gantries. Handling systems. Lifting beams and spreaders. Special grabs and load attachments are conceived using computer-aided design and manufactured in accordance with the Machinery Safety Directive and international requirements using the relevant materials and welding procedures. Alternatively, designs can be made to customers' own specifications.

All handling systems are designed to accommodate site conditions and where required, full site surveys can be carried out.

Drawings

Quotation and customer approval layout drawings are supplied giving clear dimensions applicable to the job in hand and allow clients to amend or authorise details prior to actual production. Manufacturing drawings are held in the job file and are confidential to HandlingSafety / Dale Group.

Innovative Design

Handling systems of all types are designed to meet the specific needs of the client in accordance with the appropriate current standards. The complete system is installed by HandlingSafety / DALE Group - including manipulators, load balancers, hoist units, power feeds and lifting devices - Full erection and proof load testing service can also be provided.

Total Solutions

Overhead cranes, Swing Jib Cranes and Lifting davits are provided from standard comprehensive ranges that cope with most applications easily. For special requirements that are out of the ordinary, design and manufacture of a floor or column-mounted jibs can be provided to fit the site conditions exactly; light or heavy duty, manual or power slewing, complete with power feed.

Suitability

Where HandlingSafety / DALE Group are to be contracted to provide site erection - proof load testing and appropriate test certificates are provided.

For applications where the installation is carried by the client or third parties, the suitability and integrity of the installation remains with the client.

Subject to suitability of the concrete floor and foundations, free standing jib cranes can be anchored to the floor with a counterplate and chemical anchor bolts, Where the existing surface is not suitable, we can provide a foundation drawing showing base dimensions required together with log bolts and a fixining template.

Lifting davits can be provided with in-ground, surface, wall or machine mounted sockets to suit location. Any civil works required is the resposibility of the client.

Where the system is to be suspended or supported by the building structure e.g. suspended from the ceiling or on a building column, the suitability of the supporting structure remains with the client and it may be prudent to consult a structural surveyor. Where other supports such as a mezzanine floor or machine is being used then the client should seek approval from the manufacturer.

Compliance

Full compliance to quality and design standard is maintained at all stages of manufacture. Following completion items are proof load testing, inspected and documented to ensure you receive equipment conforming to the appropriate industry, national or international standards, CE marked and totally fit for purpose.

Expertise

All personnel are in-house and or LEEA trained to a high standard and are either time served or apprentice trained. All designs are to relevant procedures and specifications.

Load Handling

Manipulators or grabs, vacuum or magnet and scissor action, are designed to suit the customers' requirements and range from simple box lifters to complex component positioning units. We will design for internal or external load interface. Rotating of the loads can be accommodated where necessary. Grabs are fitted with an automatic locking device to ensure lifting of the load, and automatic release from the load.

Lifting Frames, Spreader Beams, Container Lifting Frames. Special frames e.g. big bag handling assemblies etc. are manufactured from certified steel and all welding is in accordance with appropriate specifications. Supplied from our extensive range of standard designs or to your specific requirements.

Special Design Systems can be conducted by the DALE Group Design Services. The service is centred on an ability to cope with any handling problem which involves mechanical handling, drive units, hoists, winches and electric, pneumatic or hydraulic control systems or fabrication design, starting with an initial design appraisal to test the feasibility of a project.
