Lifting Shackles are essentially a connection link that are used to forge a connection between the load lifting device (hoist hook / sling) and the load to be lifted. There are two dominant styles of lifting shackle, namely “D” Shackles (or Dee Shackle) and bow shackles. (otherwise called Omega shackles)

Many opt for the Crosby G2150 - Bolt Type Chain ( Safety Dee ) Shackles have capacities 1/3 through 150 metric tonnes. The Working Load Limit permanently is shown on every shackle. Forged — Quenched and Tempered, with alloy pins. Hot Dip galvanised and Fatigue rated (1/3t - 55t) the shackles 25t and all larger are RFID Equipped.
Crosby products either meet or exceed all requirements of ASME B30.26 including identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature requirements. Crucially, Crosby products meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability that aren’t addressed by ASME B30.26.
Available in sizes 1/2t-25, the shackles meet the performance requirements of EN13889:2003.
The shackles for 55 metric tonnes and less can be furnished proof tested with certificates to designated standards, such as ABS, DNV, Lloyds, or other certification when requested at the time of order. Shackles for 85 metric tonnes and larger can be provided either as non-destructive tested, with a serialized pin and bow. Material Certification (chemical) Certification must be requested at the time of order.
Crosby G209R - ROV SHACKLES demonstrate capacities from 6-1/2t all the way up to 55 tonnes.
Constructed from forged steel, quenched and tempered with alloy pins, their Working Load Limit is permanently displayed on every shackle. All ROV shackle bows, unless otherwise noted, are galvanized, then painted fluorescent yellow.
